The New Mustang GT Good Neighbor Mode

The Ford Mustang GT has been an icon in the muscle car world for a long time and we all love the sound the V8 engine makes as it roars to life. Well, maybe not in the early hours of the morning while everyone is sleeping. Thankfully the 2018 Ford Mustang GT will feature new innovative technology to not wake up the neighbors.

After collecting information from different residential areas across the country Ford found that loud engine noise ranks among the top noise complaints. Along with barking dogs, power tools, and band practice. While Ford can't fix any of those noise complaints, Ford engineers have developed an industry-first Quiet Start or Good Neighbor mode. Which allows Mustang drivers to schedule the time of day that their powerful V8 can roar at full volume. The Quiet Start works by limiting the volume of the 5.0-liter V8 engine by closing valves to restrict the amount of noise the Mustang can make.

The 2018 Ford Mustangs haven't arrived here at Ken Stoepel Ford yet and we will keep you posted as to when they will arrive.
